Johana Reed has over 30 years' experience as an attorney, contracts manager and business manager in United States Government (USG) Contracting. Ms. Reed's experience as an attorney is both as in-house counsel and as outside counsel. She has expertise in most aspects of the Federal Acquisition Regulations ("FAR") and the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations Supplement ("DFARS"), to include protection of intellectual property under USG contracts, FAR Part 31 cost principles, Cost Accounting Standards, organizational conflict of interest, regulatory compliance, investigations, mandatory disclosures, and interpretation of contract law. Ms. Reed is skilled in drafting and negotiating both international and domestic contracts including teaming agreements, intellectual property licenses, agent agreements and proprietary information agreements.
As in-house counsel at both Supreme Group and BAE Systems, MS. Reed counseled senior executives and managers on all aspects of USG contracts, to include risk analysis of contract terms. She has conducted internal compliance investigations, drafted mandatory disclosures, and supported, coordinated and participated in Inspector General and Department of Justice investigations.
Ms. Reed received her Juris Doctor degree from Georgetown University. She also has a Masters Degree in Contract Administration and Management from Florida Institute of Technology and a Masters Degree in Finance from American University. Ms. Reed has spoken at ABA, ACI and C5 Communications Ltd. events.
